BIOGRAFIA

🇵🇹 A minha biografia em Português

Irene Felizardo was born in Albergaria dos Doze, Leiria, Portugal, in 1957, and spent her youth in France, where she trained in accounting. In 1978, she returned to Portugal and currently resides in Lisbon. Since 2005, the Visual Arts have been a constant presence in her life. Between 2008 and 2020, she completed her artistic training at the "Nextart" Artistic Training Center in Lisbon.

Starting in 2008, she participated in various group painting exhibitions, standing out in several biennials, museums, salons, and national and international art fairs held in Spain, Mexico, Brussels, Italy, and Switzerland. Since 2018, some of her works have been featured on the cover of the magazine [Sem]Equívocos, by Grupo Criador Editora, including issues nº9 of 2019, nº17 of 2021, and nº21 of 2022. Irene Felizardo is mentioned in the article of the magazine "Sem Equívocos" in its 7th edition (pages 56/57).

In 2022, her works were selected to illustrate book covers such as "À vista," by Steven Seidenberg, and "As Memórias de Espinho," by Luís Capela, among others. Irene Felizardo was awarded the silver medal for merit by the "Société Académique ARTS-SCIENCES-LETTRES" in Paris, France, and the International prize "Arte & Cultura (1ª ed.)" by "Art Global" in Rome, Italy, among others.

Since 2015, Irene has collaborated with several non-profit institutions, such as the International Association of Lusodescendants "AILD," REALCES tactile art projects, and the Portuguese Red Cross, participating in the charity auction for its 150th anniversary.

Irene Felizardo's projects promote cultural diversity through the promotion of contemporary art. It is a strategy of creative intervention, and she hopes to contribute to new forms of connection with others—deeper and more meaningful—and also in other social domains of life and citizenship. The start of each project requires research on the purposes and potentialities of art, the suitability of the artistic process, its expression, the reflective dimension in the face of the ability to transform art into a space of attraction and sharing, which rises through motivation and the will to be and do differently, in harmony between the real and fiction that makes us dream and go further in our days.

In this way, the freedom promoted at the level of cultural creation, technology, involvement, and solidarity, inherent to activities of artistic expression, contribute to the improvement of the community's quality of life through procedures, techniques, and resources, reinforcing the appreciation of culture and societal identity.

My passion for art lies in the diversity of
the various artistic strands that my passion for art lies.
